Semenggoh Nature Reserve

 With Covid restrictions easing in early May 2022 it is now possible to get out of the house and visit parks again. What a joy to get out and move about, being house bound is not my cup of tea and I'm sure it was frustrating for most folks.

Being the day before the Gawai day holiday, I decided to head back over to Semenggoh Nature Reserve. I have been visiting the park since Dec. 1998, usually to walk the trails and do bird and plant photography. The park has changed for me, no longer able to wander the trails freely for staff fear the possible run in with the orangutans. The park now has a open window from 8-10 a.m and 2-4 p.m. stricly for viewing the orangutans.

I was lucky enough to see a few this day, including two females with babies. The photos with the twigs and branches are their sleeping platforms that the construct freshly every night.

I should point out I do not use a camera flash for fear of spooking the orangutans.
